About the Company
Emerald Innovations LLC, established in 2001, offers traditional Christmas products such as indoor/outdoor décor as well as new innovative items for Christmas, Halloween and other holidays. Emerald’s customer base includes Wal-mart, Kmart, Ace, Tru-Serv, Sears, Bed, Bath & Beyond as well as many other large retailers.
The Challenge
One of Emerald Innovations’ biggest challenges has been obtaining the technology and resources needed to transact business with some of the largest retailers in the world. Like many small companies, Emerald Innovations does not have an IT department or full time network administrator on staff to address such issues.
The Opportunity
Prior to being made aware of the TrueCommerce solution, Emerald Innovations was going to implement EDI through a new Macola installation. TrueCommerce was able to present alternatives that would allow for a more affordable approach by implementing EDI with other accounting systems including MAS 90.
The Solution
Emerald Innovations decided to implement TrueCommerce’s complete end-to-end solution in conjunction with MAS 90, which they purchased through Schneider Downs. In 2002, Schneider Downs was a Best Software Rising Star Award winner. Since installing the TrueCommerce Integrator® software, Emerald Innovations has saved time and money, which they attribute to Integrator’s easy-to-use interface. “It is very user friendly. Invoicing through TrueCommerce has allowed our small accounting department time to manage other areas,” says Marsha Dunmyre, General Manager of Operations at Emerald Innovations. “The support team at TrueCommerce is outstanding! Because they’ve done business with so many of our trading partners, they are familiar with their systems. This has saved us a tremendous amount of time!” By implementing the TrueCommerce solution, Emerald Innovations can now focus on continuing their company’s strong sales growth. The company also uses their TrueCommerce system to automate transactions with a key supplier, enabling Emerald Innovations to gain efficiencies in procurement as well.
