About the Company

The Wrap-On Company has been manufacturing electric pipe heating cables, roof and gutter cables, and a variety of other winterization products for more than fifty-seven years. Wrap-On introduced the first pipe heating cable (which prevents frozen pipes) to the market in the early 1940s. In the years since, they have continually improved and updated their products to meet the changing needs of their customers.

The Challenge

Wrap-On is a small manufacturer that does business with many large companies, including Ace Hardware, Orchard Supply and TruServe. In order to be in compliance with their trading partners’ EDI requirements, Wrap-On was spending a great deal of time and money using several software packages. Each of the companies dictated its own requirements and, as a result, Wrap-On needed to hire a third party consultant to take care of integration. According to Wrap-On’s Al Dudycha, “We were spending a lot of money to be in compliance, especially for a small business.”

The Solution

TrueCommerce’s “Advanced Integration” package for MAS 90/200/500 provides Wrap-On with a patent-pending, end-to-end EDI solution that is comprehensive and easy to use. “TrueCommerce satisfied 99% of our needs very cost effectively. The system works seamlessly. Their helpdesk and integration teams are excellent in their efforts to take care of the rare problem that occurs in a timely and professional manner,” Mr. Dudycha states. Now, Wrap-On can be self-sufficient when processing orders from many different customers.

The Results

  • Third party consultant no longer needed to perform integration tasks.
  • A small business saves up to 30% on an EDI solution and trades with national companies.
