What is a Member Choice Wine Club and is it right for my business?
A member choice club differs from a typical wine club by allowing club members to change the contents of their club shipment prior to committing to the order. Without automation, this level of flexibility can be very labor-intensive and lead to many phone calls and email exchanges. Members can simply login to a web portal and edit the contents of their next club order!

Transitioning is very easy. You just need to configure some custom club preferences in Orders/Order Preferences/Pending Order Preferences. Your Account Manager will be happy to talk you through best practices.
Recommended Pending Order Preferences for Member Choice Wine Clubs
When completing a member choice club configuration, be sure to check the custom club order box and set an activation date. You may also opt to set a bottle minimum and specify whether members can skip (cancel) a shipment.
What happens if members don’t modify their wine club orders?
If a wine club member doesn’t change their club order, the system will auto-activate that order on the specified activation date. The activation process changes the order status from “pending” to “unshipped,” at which point you can process the order like a normal wine club order.
Is inventory decremented at the time a member choice club order is placed?
If you are using Nexternal’s inventory control feature, inventory is not decremented when the order is still in pending status. When the order status changes to active, the system decrements inventory.
