THE ROLE

The Mapping Specialist analyses designs, develops, and maintains EDI related projects such as Trading Partner Maps, Client/ERP maps, Shipping Labels, Packing Lists, and Specifications where applicable.

THE PERSON

You must be extremely customer-oriented and be able to demonstrate full accountability; owning responsibility for the overall success of the mapping of EDI related projects. The position requires programmatic, logical thinking and the ability to grasp the use of proprietary software to develop the aforementioned.

You will possess a methodical and analytical approach and be used to meeting deadlines working on multiple concurrent mapping projects.

Continual improvement is a key part of the mapping process and the ability to demonstrate an eye for process improvement will be a clear advantage.

Essential Skills:

  • 3+ years client services, business to business, computer support/service
  • 3+ years with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Operating Systems, Internet Applications
  • 2+ years of Programming knowledge preferred
  • 2+ Years’ experience with XML
  • 1-2 years of EDI experience is preferred

KEY DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED

Design, develop and maintain applications / integrations
Create appropriate and suitable documentation, in accordance with our standards and guidelines (e.g. comments in code, design documents).
Learn new technologies as needed to successfully perform these duties.
Provide reasonable and accurate time estimates for tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.
Create and execute unit-test cases against developed software, to ensure high quality.
Debug software and fix defects uncovered and reported during the testing process.
Work with other software engineers, managers, QA engineers, technical writers, and technical operations team members, as needed, to ensure quality and the successful rollout of new applications or features.
Attend and actively contribute to the Development Agile Sprint Review sessions.
Perform software deployment, as and when requested.
Provide post-release software and application support, including incident reporting.

Desired Optional Skills

  • Entry Level SQL Administration
  • Understanding of XPATH
  • Develop or modify Trading Partner Maps and/or Client Maps. Label Templates, Packing Slips, and Electronic Label Plug-ins per Client and Client Trading Partner requirements.
  • Participate in the refinement and documentation of internal mapping related processes.
  • Examine Trading Partner/Client specification modifications to assess impact to current Trading Partner/Client maps, labels, packing slips.
  • Coordinate QC/QA process of new and modified Trading Partner/Client maps, labels and packing slips where applicable
  • Define and implement projects related to standardisation, organisation and process development as they relate to mapping development and maintenance.
  • Develop tokens and define their usage for Trading Partner/Client maps, labels and packing slips where applicable.
  • Develop standards for building Trading Partner/Client maps, labels and packing slips to ensure functionality and consistency where applicable.
  • Assist Sales Engineer in assessing specific transaction integrations against Trading Partner/Client maps and the customer’s ERP system.
  • Develop and maintain mapping templates to ensure consistency, quality and currency.
  • Provide input to a QC Specialists to establish and maintain a QA process for Trading Partner/Client maps, labels and packing slips where applicable.
  • Support PSD with EDI Standards, Trading Partner/Client feedback, labels and advanced troubleshooting
  • Develop a knowledge of our OCR solutions in both the US and UK to assist with and troubleshoot errors.
  • Assist the Sales Team with information gathering regarding Trading Partners/ERPs to close deals.
  • Provide mock transaction maps when needed to support the sales process.
  • Communicate with Sales on an as needed basis to changes with Trading Partners that may require additional sales or “swaps”.
