“The major retailers communicate their order information electronically using EDI. We send electronic data to them and their suppliers on a daily basis including despatch and stock information. The process of receiving orders each morning used to take a couple of quite stressful hours and we sometimes encountered difficulties with some orders being lost. This exercise has now been reduced to a few minutes giving us much more time to plan the day’s operations and improve our customer service.”
